CHICKASHA, Okla. – Dozens of parents say they paid for photos they never received.
Their gripe is with the owners of Reflections by Jessica Photography, Gary and Jessica Hulsey.
Rodeo mom, Mandy Fisher, says she’s out hundreds of dollars.
“She quit contacting me and turned off everything,” Fisher said. “I can’t get a hold of her. To me that’s really cowardly.”
Darcy Smith is another dissatisfied customer.
She received a few photos, but says she’s not happy with the quality of work.
“It was supposed to be on metallic paper,” she said. “It was supposed to be matted, framed.”
Fisher said, “She needs to stand up and take responsibility for what she’s done, the money she’s taken and it’s not just rodeo associations.”
The In Your Corner team has learned the Hulseys were the exclusive photographers for a number of rodeo and youth associations in Chickasha and surrounding areas.
The Chickasha Youth Soccer Association says its board terminated the Hulsey’s contract because the couple wasn’t fulfilling orders.
We went searching for the hulseys at their Chickasha home.
There was no sign of them there.
They moved out months ago.
We also stopped by their business address — only to find the place cleaned out.
We got husband, Gary, on the phone.
He claims something happened to the family that put them in a financial bind.
“We worked hard to correct it, but we weren’t able to and we got behind as far as the pictures and stuff and people complained, which hurt my business,” he said.
Gary says they’re no longer taking new business and promises to smooth things over with customers.
Parents say it’s not about the cash.
“These [pictures] were for my kids’ great grandparents at Christmas,” Fisher said. “Well, they’re in their 80′s. I really would have liked to have gotten those pictures for them.
Gary and Jessica Hulsey refuse to meet us in-person.
They won’t tell us where they moved either.
We know they skipped town months ago and are now living several hours away from the Chickasha area.
We’ll let you know when they deliver the photos to parents once and for all.
