OKLAHOMA CITY - A new online tool lets you search scams in your area.
The Better Business Bureau recently debuted its Scam Tracker.
People report scams, so you can find out what fraud is happening in your community.
Kitt Letcher, president and CEO of The Central Oklahoma Better Business Bureau, said her office has 75 pending scam investigations right now.
They review each one before posting it to the Scam Tracker.
We did our own search for central Oklahoma and pulled up a phishing email scam reported by someone in Stillwater.
There was a bogus fax alert in Oklahoma City and more reports of online investment scams in our state.
“It's where they send you something and you don't realize you're signing up for a monthly deduction,” Letcher said.
You can get as specific as you want with your search.
“It's just another way to do their homework, so they're just not being taken advantage of,” Letcher said.
