UPDATE 11/4/16 : Our In Your Corner team has new details involving an accused scammer, Jimmy Ray Beets.
It's also alleged he's been running a heat and air conditioning scam in our area.
Our team exposed him last month.
We’re learning he was a no show in court Wednesday.
Police nabbed Beets at this Del City home and booked him into the Oklahoma County Jail Thursday.
He's charged with copper theft, possession of a firearm and he’s accused of scamming at least one senior homeowner.
“They got all the $800 dollars," Rita Hayes said. "I said okay, ‘That's why they're not showing up now.’”
When didn't know what Beets looked like yet when we tracked him down at his mom's house.
He lied to us and pretended to be his brother.
“We don't give [his] number out,” Beets said. “He'll be back tomorrow.”
The In Your Corner bottom line:
- Beets is not licensed to be doing HVAC or electric work in Oklahoma.
- He has convictions across the country for defrauding people, including one of his former employers.
- Now he's in more trouble with authorities in our state, behind bars and awaiting his next court hearing. We'll keep you posted on the case.
