The Nathan Shinn Foundation is putting on an arts and crafts show to raise money for Oklahoma’s special needs children.
The “This & That” event is scheduled for Saturday, January 26th, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., inside West Moore High School’s cafeteria.
Brandon and Brittany Shinn’s son, Nathan, was born with a number of birth defects.
Back in 2006 the toddler died after he was severely injured while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Nathan’s nurse later admitted to dropping the toddler.
The Shinn family received a large settlement and continues to use that money to help disabled children, like Faith Viewens.
Last year her mother contacted our In Your Corner because she was desperate for a reliable van to get her daughter to school and doctor appointments.
Faith, now seven, was born with a rare chromosomal disorder.
The Nathan Shinn Foundation purchased a handicap equipped van for Faith’s mom, Lynn, allowing her to safely transport Faith around town.
Today, the Nathan Shinn Foundation is thriving.
The non-profit continues to assist special needs children and their families, not only on a case by case basis, but through its work with patients at the JD McCarty Center and students at a number of Oklahoma schools.
The “This & That” arts and crafts show will feature dozens of vendors including Beauty Control, Tupperware, Arbonne, Scentsy, Zeal, Silver Star, Stella & Dot, Grace Adele, Celebrating Home and It Works.
The event is free and open to the public.
